About Us
The homeschool track meet began in 1999 when Deb Schmidt of Colon (near Wahoo), along with several other homeschooling families, started a track and field day. As the meet continued to grow, Shana Baker of Gretna joined the leadership in 2006. In 2012, Jeff and Tori Ryan of Lincoln stepped in to coordinate the event and guided it for thirteen wonderful years. They have since passed the event on to a team that hopes to continue the strong foundation and good work their predescessors established. The team current consists of three families: the Ficks, the Lautenschlagers, and the Skrdlas.
Although leadership has changed over time, the meet has always been made possible by the parents and volunteers who generously give their time each year for the benefit of their children. Participation has grown steadily, and the track and field day continues to be blessed with great volunteers, a wonderful facility, joyful children, and kind, supportive families. The day has a relaxed, fun atmosphere, and we hope you are able to join and share the experience with us.
